The 3 days Queen Elizabeth Uganda Safari will take you to Uganda’s most visited National Park- Queen Elizabeth National Park one of; it covers an area 1,978 sq. km, found in the Western part of the country, approximately 376 km from Kampala. It is classified with various ecosystems such as the dazzling lakes, kazinga channel, extensive savannah, humid forests and also lush wetlands.

For this 3 Day Queen Elizabeth National Park Quickie Safari, we use an open safari vehicle. Game viewing begins as soon as we enter the gates.

While making our way to the lodge, we search for wildlife and you can expect to see giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, elephants, buffalo, kudu, impala and various other animals. Dinner will be prepared and served at the camp restaurant.

The lodge is safely fenced with an electric fence and features a restaurant, curio shop. Overnight in a cottage bungalow with mosquito screens, overhead fan and en-suite bathroom.

Queen Elizabeth National Park highlights

Close to 100 species of mammals and about 606 types of birds dwell within this park and among them is are the: large schools of hippos, large forest hogs and the good-look Uganda kobs which are all commonly seen in the tourist villages on the magnificent Mweya Peninsula which prides in a beautiful waterfront locale within the shadows of Mountain Rwenzori. However, the isolated Ishasha Sector is prominent for the resident tree-climbing lions, the Maramagambo forest is habitat to an attractive diversity of monkeys plus birds, the crater lakes hold thousands of the beautiful pink flamingos, while the Kyambura Gorges is habitat to habituated Chimpanzees.

Day 1: Kampala- Queen Elizabeth National Park

After an early breakfast, one of our Msafiri tours guides will collect you from your accommodation in Kampala by 7:00 am and drive you to Queen Elizabeth National Park. and enjoy a scenic drive to the Queen Elizabeth National Park, in the comfort of our custom build safari van. You will make a few stops at the Equator to take some photographs and in Mbarara at Agip Motel for your lunch, from there you will drive on to Queen Elizabeth National Park. On the way, you marvel see breathtaking scenery, tea plantations, the open grasslands, long-horned –Ankole Cattle, the woodlands and the Rift Valley Escarpment. Have a game drive in the evening as you drive to your place of accommodation. Dine and overnight at your chosen lodge.  Meal plan: Lunch & Dinner.

Day 2:  Queen Elizabeth National Park Uganda Safari

We rise early and head out for an early morning game drive, looking for the Big Five and any other wildlife we may come across.

Early morning is the best time for game viewing in Uganda. We may see hyenas returning to their den, or baboons playing in the sun, or a herd of elephants coming to the river to drink warthogs, Lions or even Leopards if we get lucky. Every game drive is different and part of the excitement of a game drive at Queen Elizabeth national park is not knowing what you will see.

A hearty breakfast will be enjoyed a bit later in the morning, either at the lodge or at one of the camps. Breakfast will either be prepared by your guide, or by the lodge catering team.

The game drives on this Queen Elizabeth national park safari are flexible. If everyone feels fresh, we may decide to head out again and continue our game drive after breakfast. Usually, we spend the hot midday hours at the lodge, where you can browse in the crafts shop, relax or watch animals. Some people prefer to enjoy a siesta.

During the afternoon, we head out on another game drive, enjoy a 2 hours boat ride on the Kazinga Channel where you will encounter Buffaloes, Elephants, Hippos, kobs plus warthogs among others. This ride will also enable you to see an array of birds. Dine and overnight at your lodge. Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

As the day cools down, the animals become more active and this is again a good time for game viewing.

We return to the lodge at around sunset and enjoy dinner around the fire or in the camp restaurant.

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth- Entebbe

After breakfast, it is time to pack up and start making our way toward the exit gate, as we come to the end of this mini safari.

We usually arrive back in Kampala between 5 – 6 pm, depending on traffic.

This is our shortest Queen Elizabeth Park safari, ideal for those with very limited time, but who still want to experience the wonderful wildlife of one of Uganda’s most famous national parks.

Travelling by road from Kampala takes approx. 5 – 6 hours to Queen Elizabeth Park Gate; return or one-way flights can be arranged if you prefer, at an additional cost
