The Uganda Wildlife Authority features an exciting, inviting rescue and rehabilitation initiative for animals. The zoo or wildlife education centre project takes care of a wide range of animals, including endangered wildlife species. The mission is to restore and then release these animals to their natural environment when possible.

Requirements:

– At least 16 years of age
– Participants under 16 are welcome when there is a faculty leader, parent, or guardian present
– Flexible; willing to do various tasks based on season and project needs
– Be healthy and physically prepared to do manual labour for most of your volunteer time.
– Hard-working, ready to do anything!
– Spanish language skills are not required

Volunteer programs for wildlife and animals in UgandaWork Schedule:

– Minimum 1 week; we recommend 2 weeks or longer
– 3-4 hours/day of volunteer work, Monday through Friday
– Work hours are morning or afternoon depending on the project
– Projects may be within walking distance or require public transportation
